Time: 1st to 7th of Growfest
Growfest is one of the four 1-week-long months that occur during the year. While not exactly a festival, or observed as a full public holiday, Growfest is still seen somewhat as a celebratory week, and most general workplaces tend to be far more lenient.
Growfest “celebrations” specifically tend to centre around the beginning of the main crop planting season. This is time when communities gather together to plan for the future. Those that work in the fields and are the main workers for such a task are treated with great respect during this week, often having drinks and meals bought for them in towns and cities in favours for the amount of work they need to do at this time of year. Some other professions may even go so far as to stop their own work for a few days during Growfest in order to lend aid. Although some see it as just a necessity, others take it as a yearly novelty. It is not uncommon for there to be some form of minor celebration, centering around a community event like a barn-raising, to help a neighbor whose homestead may have been damaged over the winter. The day’s community work is then relieved with revelry in the evening where bonds of friendship often grow. Either way, most go about their usual business with a heightened sense of cheer.
